Gator was a rescue puppy. He weighed less than a pound when we got him. He was malnourished. He grew quickly with great food, snacks and a new friend - our dachshund Monty! They were best buddies. Gator sounded like a baby alligator. Soon as we heard that sound looked at each other and said, “Gator!” So the name stuck.
